for some authentic Tennessee grub. Here, I learned two things...
Next on the agenda was Diva's favorite place on earth....
but it was thrilling just to be such on hallowed ground.
or some silly game, I'm not sure...
Or, just a comment.
I lift my cups and raise a toast to you
and everyone who has helped me realize my dream
of being the world's first and only TRAVELING BRA!
CHEERS!

Merry Christmas Everyone!
Enjoy this day!
xoxo

'Twas the Night Before Christmas
Oh Christmas Tree...oh Christmas Tree...
...how bodacious are your branches!
with ME upon them! While I'm hanging with
Diva in Tennessee for Christmas,
I wonder what my blog-mistress's kids are doing back home in California?
Probably sleeping under their Christmas Tree
like they always do on Christmas Eve.
I wonder if they'll remember all the words this year?
(Note: Despite what you see and hear in this video,
both kids really are straight "A" students
and my blog-mistress does not have a lisp!)

Jake, Elvis, Dolly and ME in Tennessee!
Hot Damn!
The first of my three Tennessee Chaperons,
Catscratch Diva, wasted no time in taking me out
and exposing me to some famous folks in
Sevierville, Tennessee!

Now, seein's how I'm a little hungover tuckered out from all the Jack Daniels excitement I've had since I got here...
and since NO ONE tells a story quite like the Diva...
please

Diva, Jack Daniels, and Me...in Tennessee!!!
After TWENTY SEVEN long days on the road
(and in the air) I have
FINALLY arrived in Tennessee!

And oh man!...are my cups are PARCHED!
So I'll tell ya'll about it after Diva & I finish the bottle.

Feeling Rummy in Aruba (Again!)
...hopefully I'll arrive in time for Christmas!
In the meantime, please enjoy this repost of
what I was doing this time LAST year!
After flying all night, I greeted the beautiful island morning with
a refreshing glass of Caribbean Rum Punch
...and was soon feelin' perkier than ever!

My cups were all poised and ready for an exciting day of fun and adventure exploring the island of
Aruba!
So we hopped in the Jeep and took off!
As you will see, my Island Chaperon was a very supportive
tour-guide...she drove so I could sip my Rum Punch
and take pictures.

Our first stop was the capital of Aruba,
Oranjestad. Aruba is part of the Dutch West Antilles, along with two other islands off the coast of Venezuela. Aruba declared their "independence" from the Dutch in 1986, which was largely symbolic, but they do have their own currency and some real independence because of the income from tourism. Here, I refilled my cups with more of that tasty
Rum Punch!
When we found this
picturesque Alto Vista Chapel, I just had to stumble inside and take a peak...

How quaint!
And with the
Alto Vista Rum Shop located right next door, visitors can conveniently combine their sinning and confessing all in the same trip! (Not that
I would know about such things.)
More
Rum Punch, please!

Outside the church was a
Peace Labyrinth - they say there is no "right way" to walk a labyrinth. You only have to enter and follow the path..it may be joyous or somber...it might be thoughtful or prayerful...or you may want to just use it as a walking meditation. (Tip: I recommend doing it
before you've had several cupfuls of
Rum Punch.) And really, with my
mazeophobia, I should have just avoided the dang thing altogether.

Arikok National Preserve makes up approximately 25% of the island, which is very arid and dry (not something you'd expect in the Caribbean.) The island only gets a few inches of rain a year normally, and you will find that Arikok National Preserve shows what the island is really like - lots of cacti and
divi divi trees. My Island Chaperon said she thought they were "exceptionally beautiful and different." I said, "Yeah whatever...gimme that
Rum Punch."
We saw some interesting natural land formations too - here's the "
Natural Bridge." The pounding surf has carved this dramatic bridge out of coral rock - it is the highest coral structure in Aruba and the island's most famous landmark. The arch measures more than 100 feet long and stands 23 feet above sea level.
(hic!)
The "
Natural Pool" or "conchi" called "Cura di Tortuga" is a great place to swim. And drink
Rum Punch!

Well, by now I was feeling pretty wasted hot and droopy...
so after draining what was left of my Rum Punch,
I said "Bottoms up! - Let's go shnorkeling!"
Here it is! The first Angel Fish ever photographed by a
drunken Traveling Bra!

"Hey Olga, how many fingers am I holding up?"

Phew! Back on land and drying out!
And in the the warm Caribbean sun, I
passed out fell asleep...

and when I awoke, had a blazing hangover felt a bit deflated to see that the sun was setting on my exciting Aruba adventure!
I had an absolutely lushious time in Aruba...
and would love to return...but believe me,
these cups are never touchin' Rum Punch again!

Thanksgiving is...TOMORROW?!?!?
Due to the fact that I have procrastinated and left everything to the last minute, today I am re-posting my Turkey Ala Olga recipe from last year.
Gobble gobble!
Here is a new way to prepare your
Thanksgiving Turkey.
Your dinner will be the talk of the TOWN!!
Sure to bring smiles from your guests!
You should try this!
1. Cut out aluminum foil in desired shapes.
2. Arrange the turkey in the roasting pan, position the foil carefully.
(See picture below for details.)
3. Roast according to your own recipe and serve.
4. Watch your guests' faces as you present The Bird...

APPROVED by the WORLD BLOG COUNCIL!

WoW!

Ta-Ta (for now!) Norway!
For our final adventure together, my amazing Norwegian Chaperon,
Renny took me on a cruise to Germany!

We departed out of the Oslo Fjord

aboard a luxury ship aptly named
Magic...
Taa-daaaaa!!!
We toured around Kiel, Germany for a while...and met a nice little fellow sitting in front of Rathaus (the town hall)...but he didn't have much to say...which was fine with me 'cuz I don't speak German. However,
Renny has LOTS more to say, so be sure to pop over there and learn more about our trip!

Back aboard the good ship Magic...as we cruised back to Oslo for my final night with Renny and his lovely wife Diane...I felt myself get a little misty-cupped recalling all of the wonderful sites I've seen here in Norway;
The Royal Castle,
Vigeland Sculpture Park, The New
Oslo Opera House, the
Norway Maritime Museum, and this trip to Germany! And of course, being a guest in Renny's home, where I learned to make
Norwegian Seafood Delight, was the icing on the cake! It's been a
wonderful adventure and I could
not have asked for more!
Well, except....maybe...
for a glimpse of the Elusive Norwegian Beaver!
Hmmm...
Maybe they really ARE just an old wives-tale?
Maybe they don't REALLY exist after all?!?

Maybe.

I Heart Big Al's!
Whilst I'm traveling to Germany with RennyBA this weekend (!!!) I thought I'd pull out a few more pictures from my hometown
Chico Scrapbook to share with ya'll...
Big Al's Drive In
is a Chico, California landmark...
A true blast from the past...Big Al's still serves burgers and fries in a little red plastic baskets lined with white paper...and the onion rings are to DIE for! They offer about a gazillion different flavors of real milkshakes that are "triple thick" and require a spoon...(my personal favorite being Mocha Chip...oh how I love fishing all those little bitty chips out from the bottom of the cup!)
...but what I really love is the big ol' BIG AL'S sign out front!
How could anyone top that?!?
'Cept me, of course!

(hee-hee)
OK...I've got all the ingredients for our Norwegian Fish Casserole:
Fillets of cod
Onion,
Lemon,
Leek,
fresh parsley,
basic,
cream,
white wine...
But
Renny's got the recipe...
